Common Questions

What contractors and owners ask us most about directional drilling in Georgia.

What is horizontal directional drilling (HDD)?

Horizontal directional drilling is a trenchless method of installing conduit and pipe underground. A steerable drill bores a pilot path beneath roads, driveways, yards and waterways, the hole is reamed to size, and the conduit is pulled back through it, leaving the surface largely undisturbed.

Where is Precision Drilling Enterprises located?

Our yard is at 1330 Pea Ridge Road in Cornelia, Georgia (Habersham County). We work throughout North Georgia, metro Atlanta and across the Southeast.

What kind of projects do you take on?

We bore conduit for fiber and telecommunications, power and electric, water and sewer crossings, municipal and DOT right-of-way work, and residential and commercial developments, working directly for owners and as a drilling subcontractor for prime contractors.

Can you drill through rock and cobble?

Yes. North Georgia ground often turns to cobble and rock, and we bring the tooling and experience to keep production moving through mixed and difficult ground.

Do you provide traffic control?

Yes. Our crews set up, maintain and staff their own work zones for road and right-of-way crossings, coordinated with the bore.

Are you DOT registered and certified?

Yes. We operate an interstate-registered fleet under USDOT 8938171 and hold National Field Certifications HDD certification.
